Pete Wilkes (Headteacher of Candleby Lane School)
I believe passionately that the responsibility for improving teaching and learning and therefore the life chances of children lies with the expertise that currently exist within schools. Moreover, the expertise within the primary phase of education is crucial in developing schools. The establishment of the The Flying High Trust puts us in a key position to work in partnership with other schools to develop practice and to improve schools.
Tony Warsop (Headteacher of The Flying High Academy at Ladybrook)
My name is Tony Warsop and I am Head of The Flying High Academy at Ladybrook in Mansfield. This is the Flying High Trust’s first sponsored academy. Prior to this I worked at Candleby Lane School as Director of Children where I also taught Year 6. During my time at Candleby I was a facilitator for the Improving Teacher Programme and the Outstanding Teacher programme which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Gary Walker (Headteacher of Peafield Lane Academy)
I am the Headteacher of Peafield Lane Academy. I am committed to raising standards and improving the life chances of the children in my care. Through working in partnership with The Flying High Trust we can create a synergy that can really make a difference to our children’s potential.
Kim Harvey (Headteacher of Greenwood Primary School)
I've happily been Head at Greenwood since 2008. Prior to this I was deputy and mainly Y6 teacher at Hawtonville in Newark. As well as supporting other schools in the county my other role is Heads Count representative for Ashfield. Coming from a disadvantaged background I appreciate the difference education can make to children's life chances. I want to help all children achieve their potential and aspire to fulfil their dreams just like I did.
Emma Hanson (Headteacher of Leamington Primary Academy)
I am passionate about enabling all children to fulfil their potential. At Leamington we work with parents, families and the community to ensure all of our children feel ready to make a positive contribution to their community and feel that no dream is unachievable.
Nina Capek (Headteacher of Haddon Primary School)
I have been lucky enough to be Headteacher of Haddon Primary School since January 2016. Prior to that I worked at Bispham Drive Junior School for 6 years as Deputy Head and Year 6 teacher as well as 2 terms as acting Head. I firmly believe that as children only get one chance at primary education it needs to be the very best it can possibly be in order to give them the academic, emotional and social grounding that they need to ensure they go on to achieve great things in their futures.
